Phil SaundersSenior Trainer
A life time in the Civil Construction Industry equips Phil with the skills and knowledge that makes him an integral and valued member of the team.
Phil joined a technical side of life by joining the fast growing industry of Utility Detection & Mapping in the late 1990’s. Prior to this Phil was involved in a managerial construction capacity on major projects throughout Australia.
These projects included:
- Goonyella-Hay Point Coal Processing Facility
- Dampier-Perth pipeline
- Collinsville Open Cut Mine Project
- Graham Farmer Freeway (Perth WA)
In 2000 Phil was trained to operate a machine using emerging technology: the PipeHawk Plc. Phil fell in love with the technology and opportunities that the equipment presented.
Phil, now semi-retired has agreed to use his wealth of knowledge and experience in the planning, operation, & technical issues surrounding the use of Electromagnetic & Ground Probing Radar systems in training the next generation of Utility Locating professionals in the use of GPR equipment.
Over the years Phil has informally pass his knowledge and experience onto colleagues. He decided in early 2013 to formalise his training experience by adding a TAE to his qualifications. At the beginning of 2016 he was commissioned to develop exclusively for Locating Unlimited a standardised training programme for GPR use in Australia. This training is ideal for any level of participant with a GPR 2 day “Basics” course and the 5 day Advanced GPR Course.
All GPR locators weather a rank amateur, just beginning or a practitioner with years of experience will benefit from this specialised training.
